Frilly and Funkie - Love is in the Air

Hello Everyone,

It's time for another challenge over at Frilly and Funkie. The lovely and talented Zoe is our hostess and she has chosen the theme "LOVE IS IN THE AIR". She would like you to create a vintage or shabby chic project with love as the central theme. Think hearts, cupid, love and romance in whatever colour palette your heart desires. One lucky winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to Linda's shop The Funkie Junkie Boutique!

I have put together another card using some of the gorgeous Pion papers that Linda sells in her shop. I am completely hooked on these amazing papers, you can count on seeing lots more cards this year using these dainty and feminine designs!

The Pion collections I used are "A Day in May" and "Paris Flea Market". The large tag was fussy cut right from the collection, the small tag was die cut using Tiny Tabs & Tags by Sizzix. The doily die is my new favourite from Prima called the Crochet Doily...LOVE IT!! This is a re-release of their original die called the Pineapple Doily. It's a little different, but still drop dead gorgeous!

The lace and seam binding were hand coloured using Distress ink Victorian Velvet. The twine and bronze heart charm are also from Linda's shop. The text was die cut using Sizzix Friendship Words. The flower was made using Sizzix's Paper Punch - Tattered Flower and coloured with Victorian Velvet ink. The stamens are also from Linda's shop. The heart was cut with Sizzix Love Struck die.

Sending out a big thank you to a very talented member of the Pion Design team, Ewa. Here is the card that I got my inspiration from. Her card is blue, but you can see how inspired I was by her gorgeous design.

UPDATE:
My card won awards in the following wonderful challenges:
All of the following products that I used can be purchased at The Funkie Junkie Boutique

Not much new to report around here. They say we might get some snow later in the week, but I'll believe it when I see it with my own baby blues!! Meanwhile, more misty days and rain. The most I can offer is a few drops of hail that fell the other day...although they look more like itty bitty white Hershey's Kisses, than they do miniature snow balls! BWAHA!

OK, SO...I DIDN'T KNOW THAT SQUIRRELS ATE TAKE OUT!! haha

I had a newcomer the other day. He didn't stick around to see if I was friend or foe, he just grabbed a peanut and then took off like a bat out of h*ll. I'm waiting now to see if he pops in for another visit, he won't be hard to spot with that scar under his eye. Would it be totally lame of me to name him Scarface?? lol

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.

  11. I love this better than the last make Pamellia (if that's possible) lol. Feminine makes are always the things that I return to after inking and getting messy, just in the process of putting the finishing touches to a project now.

Must get my hands on some of those papers!!!

I think that is what is missing from my life right now--butterflies! You have done an amazing job layering up all these papers--if I did it it would just look like kindling! GORGEOUS!

We have brown and red tailed here but that is the coolest thing. Had to call my son in and show him the pictures...SO cute!!!

Gorggggggeous dearie Bubbles and I am not if the pink variety but this is quiet stunning! The layers upon layers upon layers and did I mention the layers? Exquisite design and details! Holy cheeseballs and a cracker what a great card!

As for Scarface, I think the name is appropriate. Every scar tells a story and I bet his is very interesting, unless he was running away with his nuts and accidently hit his head on a stick. But it would still be a fun story! Hugz to you muffin! ~Doc
